Kingdom Lifestyle (KLS)

Kingdom Lifestyle Statement

We want TeenStreet to be a great place for everyone who wants to grow in their relationship with Jesus. For this reason, we aim to live a Jesus-centred lifestyle both on and off site during the TeenStreet event.

The Kingdom Lifestyle Statement (KLS) guides us in making TeenStreet a safe place. It helps us create a community where we respect one another as brothers and sisters in Christ and it supports the safety and wellbeing of all participants.

There are many of us, and we come from different countries, cultures, and ethnicities, church backgrounds, and life situations. Therefore, it is important that we all follow these common guidelines.

All TeenStreet participants must agree to follow the Kingdom Lifestyle Statement.

I declare that:

  1. I understand that all illegal actions are forbidden and will be reported to the police by TeenStreet leadership, as required by law. This includes drug use and/or possession, violence, threats, carrying knives or other weapons, vandalism, racism, etc.
  2. I will abstain from alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes, and drugs both on and off site.
  3. I will follow instructions given by leaders (SGLs, M&Ms, Country Leaders, Department Leaders, and the Leadership Team) and those responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all.  I will also respect and follow any additional guidelines put in place by my Country Leaders.
  4. I will follow the general safety rules on site:
  • Skates, skateboards, scooters, and similar items are only allowed in designated areas.
  • Ball games, frisbee, and similar games are only allowed outside the buildings.
  • Standing on chairs, running inside, pillow fights, rough play, and anything else that could get oneself or someone else hurt is forbidden.
  1. I (Teen/SGL) will participate in the required daily programme and understand that any absence must first be approved by the Medical Team. I (Service Team) will show up to all of my assigned shifts.
  2. I will eat at least one meal per day and drink regularly.
  3. I will treat everyone with love and respect regardless of nationality, ethnicity, language, culture, or church background. I will speak lovingly to others and do not use offensive language (including swearing).
  4. I will dress respectfully:
  • I will cover my body properly. E.g. I will not wear shorts/skirts that are too short.
  • I will wear a top (no see-through, no crop tops, or very low-cut tops). Guys must always wear a shirt, including when playing sports or walking to the shower. Girls must wear bras or equivalents under their shirts/dresses.
  • I will not wear clothes or accessories bearing offensive text or graphics.
  • I will wear modest swimwear that is not see-through and properly covers my private parts. I will only wear swimwear at the swimming pool and the lake.
  1. If I am in a relationship, engaged, or married, I will show love and care for my partner in a respectful and discreet way. I will keep physical closeness in public at a considerate level and respect personal boundaries and the comfort of others around me.
  2. I will always wear my wristband on my wrist and the badge around my neck while on site. Both must always be visible, including when I arrive at the TeenStreet entrance.
  3. I (Teen/SGL) will leave the site only during the "Gates Open” hours and while off site, I (Teen) need to be in a group of three or more people until I am back on site. Before leaving, I will inform my Small Group Leader (SGL) of my plans and return to the site on time
  4. I will be inside my assigned accommodation area at the designated “IN” times on the schedule and I will respect other people’s desire to sleep.
  • Male participants cannot enter female accommodation, and female participants cannot enter male accommodation. Service Team can enter teen accommodation only when invited by an authority (e.g. TeenStreet leadership, Country Leaders, Security Team).
  • I will respect other people’s belongings and only use or move them if I have the owner’s permission.
  • I will not set my alarm to go off before 6:30 am so that others can sleep uninterrupted.
  • Service Team accommodation needs to be quiet between 10 pm (22:00) and 6:30 am (6:30). It is important that Service Team members are allowed to rest adequately between their shifts.
  • I understand that the Service Team, too, needs to respect the given curfew times.
